For makers and importers
Who builds the buses Belgium buys, which Chinese makers are in Europe and with what, and the three EU rules every seller meets in a Belgian bus tender: the Clean Vehicles Directive, the Foreign Subsidies Regulation and EU type approval. All of it, with the Belgian specifics, on the makers page.
1Clean Vehicles Directive
Directive (EU) 2019/1161, in Belgian law since 2022: in 2026-2030 at least 65 % of the buses each operator procures must be clean and 32.5 % zero-emission. De Lijn, STIB-MIVB and TEC each have to hit it, so their tenders are electric.
2Foreign Subsidies Regulation
Regulation (EU) 2022/2560: a bidder in a tender of €250 million or more declares its foreign financial contributions, and above €4 million per country notifies the Commission. Belgian bus frameworks reach that size.
3EU type approval
Regulation (EU) 2018/858 with the UN regulations for buses (R107, R66, R100, R118, R155, R156): one approval sells across the EU; in Belgium homologation itself is regional, one cell per region.
1Open a sheet
Every bus and every charger has a sheet: the same rows for everything of its kind, pre-filled with what the maker, an operator, the press or a report published, with a link beside every value. An empty row means nobody has published it.
2Type what you know
A price from a tender, the real consumption of your own buses in winter, a charge time at the depot. Type it into the row. Nothing is lost while you type.
3Send and confirm
Press Review & send, then the link in the e-mail you get. We check the change and then it is on the page for everyone, with your name in the history. Your e-mail address is never shown.
